Swim Seattle is a drowning prevention and FREE swim education program championed by Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell. It combines the efforts of the YMCA of Greater Seattle, Public Health – Seattle & King County, Associated Recreation Council, Washington State Parks, No More Under, Seattle Children’s, and the University of Washington to remove barriers to learning to swim and to eradicate disproportionate drownings among youth of color.

Partnership with Oshun Swim School

As part of the Swim Seattle Initiative, Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) is partnering with Oshun Swim School to offer trauma-informed and Afro-Indigenous centered swim opportunities to our Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) + Allies community. Through a series of open swims and educational workshops, participants can expect to experience a safer space for BIPOC + Allies to explore our relationship with water.
