It's too soon to start decorating for Halloween, but September is perfect for planning your costume. This year, take advantage of the Renton Halloween Costume Swap and get a fantastic costume for FREE.

The Renton Halloween Costume Swap is a free event that is a great way to find a perfect costume at no cost. Find baby Halloween outfits, costumes perfect for tweens and teens, and fun looks for all ages. Here's how it works.

From September 15 through 27, bring your clean and gently used children's and adult-sized Halloween costumes and accessories to one of three locations (City Hall, Renton Community Center, Highlands Community Center).

On Saturday, September 28, the Renton Community Center will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to help you find the perfect Halloween costume. This is a great way to share those outgrown children's costumes and discover new ones for yourself or your family!

Don't have costumes to donate? Think again! All kinds of outfits and gear make great costumes. Here are some ideas:

  • Does your child dance in recitals and shows? Last year's dance costumes would be perfect donations.
  • Do you have formal wear, such as ugly bridesmaid dresses, that you will NEVER wear? Donate them!
  • Do you have sports or fan gear, such as a baseball jersey or cheerleader outfit? These make fun costumes!
  • Accessories such as hats are also great donations.

Don't miss this opportunity to swap and save for Halloween! Thank you to the City of Renton for planning and hosting this great costume swap.
