Supporting an Adopted Child’s Learning Journey: Seattle Area Seminar

Join Adopted Friends and Families of Greater Seattle and Learn to Advocate for Your Child

By Macaroni KID Renton - Bellevue - Newcastle - Tukwila October 30, 2024

Did you know that adopted children are three times more likely than their peers to face learning challenges, and nearly half may have diagnosed learning differences? It’s a unique journey that adoptive families share and one that brings both joy and, at times, unexpected challenges.

The AFFGS (Adopted Friends and Families of Greater Seattle) invites you to a seminar where you can connect, learn, and advocate for your child’s success. Together, we’ll explore ways to support your child’s learning and ensure they receive the resources they need in school.

Educational Seminar: Working with Schools to Advocate for Your Child

Join us for the first in our AFFGS Educational Series, led by Arik Korman—AFFGS parent and CEO of the League of Education Voters Foundation. Arik will share his personal story of advocating for his son’s educational needs and provide valuable insights on how to work effectively with schools, especially when challenges arise.

All who are raising or supporting an adopted child, teen, or young adult are welcome!
